Our History

Welcome to Hogansville Elementary School the “Home of the Greenwave”! Hogansville Elementary is a special place with a lot of tradition. Our school building used to house Hogansville High School and for several years the high school dominated this area with great championship sports teams and a deeply held tradition of being a Greenwave. Upon consolidation with the Troup County School System in the mid 90’s, the high school eventually became home to Hogansville Elementary School. During that time, Hogansville Elementary School became the Superstars. At the start of the 2005-2006 school year, we reclaimed our heritage and changed our mascot back to the Greenwave.

Since 2004 we have focused diligently on becoming a leading elementary school in Troup County…a school of excellence. Our motto “Catch the W.A.V.E.” actually comes from the last part of Greenwave and represents work ethic, attitude, vision, and excellence. We are committed to teaching students what all of these traits mean and treating each individual with dignity, worth and potential.
